Durgā is legendary for relieving difficulties and responding to the needs of Her devotees. This "secret" manifestation of Durgā is outwardly fierce yet benevolent and gracious to Her devotees usually giving immediate relief to difficulties. She is called Śūlinī Durgā but is more a direct manifestation of Tripurasundarī.
Śūlinī means the one who wields the trident and Durgā because She responds to and alleviates distress quickly. She removes the impurities of the physical, subtle and causal layers of the self. Specifically balancing and harmonizing mental states, she is said to help with depression and mental imbalances. On a practical level she removes poverty, fear, danger, attack and anger.
Śūlinī is one of the hidden or secret aspects of the fierce and protective form of the Divine Mother. The more hidden or 'secretive" the manifestation, the more powerful and impactful is the effect.
This is not a first time sadhana for absolute beginners. The prerequisite for this course is that one must have a strong meditation and mantra background. One must be familiar and comfortable with visualizations, mantras and energy work as technologies of inner transformation.
